I wonder if you can guess the series of films I was watching when I named this pattern?
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, are some of my favourite books and films, read and watched many times over the years.
There and back again, A Hobbit’s Tale is a journey of adventure, of finding new friends, and discovering new skills, much like the journey any of us embark on as we learn to crochet.
There and Back Again is the perfect project to “play” with colours, let your creativity flow and be adventurous.
There and Back Again is a three-in-one pattern.
You can stop at round 35 for a cushion facing 20 inches square with DK yarn and a 4mm hook.
Stop at round 58 for a baby-size blanket, or carry on to round 95 for a full-size blanket.

 

The photo tutorial gives you step-by-step photos so that you can clearly see what each round and repeat should look like. Plus if you are a more visual person or a beginner to crochet there are also video tutorials in US terms that take you through step by step, with lots of handy hints and tips for working the special stitches.

You will find the colours per round pdf in the Yarn Pack section below.

For Double Knit yarn with a 4mm G hook you will need a total of approx. 4200 meters / 4500 yards of yarn depending on the number of colours you use.

Should you wish to use an Aran/ Worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm H hook you will need approx. 25% more yarn.
