All those pretty tops and dresses, with strappy or strapless shoulders look wonderful. But sometimes we just want a little something to keep the chill off, but still look glamorous.
So, I have designed Girl’s Best Friend shrug or wrap.
The pattern is quite simple, easy enough for a beginner, and fabulous as a handmade gift for girlfriends, aunties or daughters.
The design is made up of different diamond shapes, created with very simple stitches.
Either item is made in rows, and the edging or border is added at the end.
I used Stylecraft Cabaret DK, in colour Ocean, which is a gorgeous, soft yarn, with little sparkles running through it. Perfect for party season.
I used a 4.5mm hook as I wanted a slightly looser tension to create a more open design to the stitches.
Stylecraft Cabaret comes in lots of gorgeous colours, you can find it at:
Stylecraft yarns are available online from any of my recommended suppliers, which you can find at the bottom of this page.
Using these links earns me a very small commission, but costs you nothing ♥
Either item can be made to whatever size is best for you, from small girls to BIG girls, you simply need to find your desired length and width, and start hooking.
There are two video tutorials to help you, NOT of the entire pattern but for working with Front and Back Post stitches.
And a special one to help you to work the End Borders for the wrap.
Here are a couple of photos of the GBF shrug that one of my lovely testers, Kathy Haire, made, doesn’t it look gorgeous with her stunning evening dress. ♥
Kathy used Boutique Unforgettable in Dragonfly, 3.5 balls with a 4.5mm hook.
