Dc-FPtr Together

This is a stitch that I have used in a few designs now.

You may remember it from the corners of part 8 in Sacred Space.

The stitch is a Double crochet – Front Post Treble crochet together dc-fptrtog.

Let’s break that down…

There are two parts to the stitch.

First a partial double crochet [dc] and then a partial front post treble crochet [fptr] around the post of the same stitch.

The two partial stitches are then joined, a little like a cluster.

1. Yarn over.

2. Insert hook in top of stitch to be worked, yarn over and pull up a loop.

3. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops.

This is the partial double crochet made.

4. Yarn over twice.

5. Insert hook around front of post of same stitch – on subsequent rounds ensure you work only around the partial front post treble and not the whole stitch.

6. Yarn over and pull up a loop. 5 loops on hook.

7. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops, twice. 3 loops on hook.

8. Yarn over and pull through remaining 3 loops.
