A stunning new yarn from Stylecraft.
Those clever people at Stylecraft are launching a gorgeous new yarn, it is called Naturals and is a cotton bamboo blend.
It is smooth yet soft, it glides through your hook, and it comes in the most amazing range of colours.
There are 43 shades for you to choose from.
Each cute little 100g ball has approx. 250 meters / 273 yards per ball.
£4.75 per ball
It is classed as a Double Knit – 3 weight yarn but is slightly thinner.
The recommended hook size is 3.5mm.
Here you can see the new Naturals compared to the Classique 4-ply and Double knit.
As you may expect I have had a little play to show you how it looks and how it works up.
I found using a larger hook – 4mm G – gave great stitch definition and a wonderful softness to the drape of the piece, although the sizing is slightly smaller than with “normal” Double knit yarn.
Working with a 3.5mm E – hook gives a slightly firmer feel yet maintains the soft drape.
Decreasing to a 3mm hook I found the piece started to have a harder feel to it.
Here are some photos to show you the gorgeous colours, in their tonal groups.
As you can see the purples are the ones I could not wait to play with, and I forgot to take photos before I got all excited and grabbed my hook!
This yarn is going to be perfect to make soft summer tops or clothes for the tiny people in your life.
I have designed a new Large Afghan Square called Felicity and found that I needed to increase the height of the last 4 rounds to achieve the same size as the Classique DK yarn.
I worked both with a 4mm G hook.
