As the newest member of the Stylecraft Blog Stars team, I am delighted to kick off this years tour around the Blog Stars.
Each Blog Star will have a wonderful treat for you, so keep watching and reading for some amazing designs and a gorgeous yarn give away each day of the tour.
For this years tour we were each given a pack of yarn, a mix of Bambino and the gorgeous new Bellissima yarns.
There were two packs for us to choose from, Summer Pudding and Autumn Leaves, I chose the Summer Pudding yarn pack as I just love the soft, muted, summer colours.
There are 2 colours from the Bambino range, Heather and Sage, and 3 colours from the new Bellissima range Double Denim, Purple Passion, and Single Cream.
Many of you may have seen a recent design of mine called Johnny and Jane, these baby blankets are a combination of 2 patterns in one. I loved working with the Bambino yarn, it is soft and snuggly, and washes beautifully, perfect for little ones.
So, when the lovely ladies at Stylecraft said choose one of these yarn packs and make something with it I jumped at the chance.
Both the Bambino and Bellissima yarns are so soft and smooth, and an absolute dream to work with. Essentially, they are the same yarn, just a baby version, with soft pretty colours, and the adult version with a gorgeous selection of rich, deep colours (and more to come).
In total you have 22 colours to choose from.
Summer’s End
There is something about being the age I am, and getting somewhat over heated, or as I tend to say…. My thermostat is broken!!
Many of you ladies out there will understand what I mean.
I find a jumper/pullover or cardigan is often too much, but I love waistcoats as they keep my back warm, without the rest of me over heating.
I have designed this edge to edge waistcoat for a medium or large size.
But you can go smaller or larger, and the pattern tells you how.
Mine is large, and fits a UK size 16 to 20, the medium size will fit a UK size 10 to 14.
For more information on the Summer’s End Waistcoat click HERE.
The motives are easy to make, the slightly tricky part is the join as you go.
If you have never done this before it is very straight forward, but you need to take care to join correctly at the shoulders.
♥ The pattern is free until 15th October.
The pattern will normally cost £3-50 (GBP) and is available in my Ravelry store, as a photo tutorial in both US and UK terms.
And….
