Me’ n’ u
£5.00 or ( 4 Credits )
A very fond memory of my Dad, the clown, is that he always called a menu a me’ n’ u, so what better name for a collection of placemat and coaster sets than Me’ n’ u.
Included in the e-book are three new patterns, Hesperus, High Tea, and Tutti Frutti, and Oh Tannenbaum, which was my Christmas gift to you all.
Available to purchase in US or UK terms.

Included in the e-book are three new patterns, Hesperus, High Tea, and Tutti Frutti, and Oh Tannenbaum, which was my Christmas gift to you all.
For placemats and coasters I strongly recommend using 100% cotton yarn, as it is more heat resistant for warm or hot plates, and more absorbent for those yummy cold drinks.
My favourite yarn for this type of project is Stylecraft Classique Cotton.
This is a Double knit weight yarn, very soft, the colours do not run when washed (30′), and a beautiful range of colours, and…. it does not split while working!.
I always use a 4mm hook, Clover Amour is my favourite as it glides through any yarn.
The sets
Hesperus
Hesperus is a name from Greek mythology, the evening star, or the planet Venus, which is also called the morning star.
Whatever time of day you want to add elegance to your table, this placemat and coaster set has a timeless elegance, for day to day dining or for special occasions.
I used Nocturne and Dove, as these colours will go in my new dinning room.
High Tea
The thought of an English High Tea, means fine china, soft colours, and pretty table-cloths.
The High Tea design is reminiscent of apple blossom, or English country gardens.
But you can jazz it up with fun, bright colours, or go colonial with creams and soft blues, have fun.
I think it goes perfectly with my gorgeous new Cath Kidston mugs, which were a treat to myself after a major de-cluttering. The tablecloth was a wedding present to my Mum and Dad, and is now mine, I love the beautiful hand embroidered apple blossom.
Tutti Frutti
Something fun for alfresco dining, family parties, BBQ with friends, kid’s parties, any time you want to create a fun atmosphere. These bright and cheerful place mats and coasters are just the thing.
Bold colours, and beautiful stitches are just the thing for summer, but, as always, the choice is yours, change the colours to change the mood created on your table, or to suit the season.
The name came about because I wanted something fun, and the colours reminded me of Tutti Frutti sweets I used to get as a child.
Oh Tannenbaum
Tannenbaum is German for Fir tree, many of us may be familiar with the song, which became a Christmas song sometime in the 19th century.
As I was designing this gift for you all the large points reminded me of a Christmas tree, and so the name “Oh Tannenbaum”.
Oh Tannenbaum is also available separately as a free pattern.
Before you rush off to start buying the e-book and some new yarn, have a look at the amazing job my awesome testers did with their sets.
