Mandala Madness Part 8
“Mary , Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow…with silver bells and cockle shells…..”
This week our flowers continue to bloom, and take on a shell like quality.
.
From a very young age, I have always been fascinated by nature, and even now, whenever I am on a beach, I will search for shells.
I can get lost in the wonder of the patterns created by Mother Nature, in shells, flowers, rocks.
The beauty of the world around us is truly astonishing, if we just take the time to stop and be present in the moment.
♥ Crochet teaches us many things, humility, patience, grace, but above all it teaches us mindfulness. ♥
I have a saying that I use often when teaching “where ever you are, BE there”.
And this is one of the weeks that you need to be totally “there” with your work.
Take your time, use stitch markers, check your stitch count on each repeat.
And with Round 56 be especially mindful.
You will be making Long stitches and Extra Long stitches, and you will be working into 4 different rounds.
Read through Round 56 thoroughly before you start, and watch the video, as Esther explains it very clearly, and check the hints carefully for the number of turns around your hook.
♥ An additional handy hint for you… in Round 56 you will be making long stitches and extra long stitches. It is tricky to get the tops of the stitches neat, don’t worry as Round 57 covers them up. BUT… if you want to get them perfect her are two handy videos to help you.
Go to 22:25 in Talking Tension video.
or have a little look at How to keep your Trebles tight, and follow the idea of 1 less yarn over.
♥ If you haven’t read the introduction post, then please find it here. You will find all the information on Yarn Packs, how much yarn you will need, hook sizes, the finished size of your blanket and all the resources available.
