Mandala Madness Part 17
Here we are at the penultimate week
This week we continue to pay homage to the setting sun.
I feel that many of you will have got to know a little bit about the madness of my mind, and this week is no exception!
So before hair gets torn out and the air turns blue I am going to just say this…
Read each step thoroughly…we all know whose mother assumption is!!!
Breathe……
Take each shell/sun one step at a time.
Breathe…..
Count, count, count.
Breathe…
Seriously folks, you’ve got this 🙂

I have loved every moment of this project, and apart from the utter amazement that I can create something so beautiful, your videos have been so easy to follow. Thank you.
Andie
Can you tell me the circumference of this blanket please. I know yarns differ but please give me the size of your completed blanket. Thanks
size details are under the yarn needed part of this post
Dear Helen. Not only is this art!.. what about the maths and design of it? Incredible. Thank you very much I have enjoyed every mooment and now onto final row 18! I hae used a thin cotton 5 and would like to make the Mandala a litle larger, erhaps with 5 more sc crochet rows but would not know how to increase on each row as it grows:( Perhaps I should square it off according to pattern design. You are amazing! Jennifer Dohmen from Cape Town. I acknowledge Esther Dijkstra’s incredible effort and patience in guiding us through this artwork with her clear and fabulous videos. Bless you both!
with a piece as large as MM it is tricky toget the increases right, honestly you just need to play it by ear, with extra rounds of sc you will likely only need to add approx 10 to 20 increases, if it cups do more and if it goes wobbly do less 🙂
Dear Helen,
I finished the mandala last night, what a journey. 3 years in the making, only in winter as it is too hot in summer I live in a high crime area, and many nights my partner and neighbours were out and about, keeping us safe. The many hours of prayers were stitched, mistakes made and rectified, and now I have a colourful picture of my journey.
Thank you so much (even if you did tax my brain as to how to do some stitches LOL) for my amazing journey. If I can figure out how to load a photo, I will.
Regards from Cape Town, South Africa
On row 104 loving it. I am a bit anxious about squaring it off. Hope I can do that part. Thank you
Just completed my second MM – don’t think it will be my last – I just love this — thank you and keep designing!
Hi. I am loving this Mandala but have found a few errors in row 103 1st shell after 14 v stitches should be skip one st before next v. Also at end of shell 3 there should be a skip st before last dc. It was a bit confusing but the video tutorial had the skip stitches.
Hi Lisa, there are only 13 V st in shell 1, with 2 skipped sts before and 2 skipped sts at the end, and after shell 3 2 skipped sts, sc skip 1 st.
The pattern is correct, but that is a tricky round and the instrustions are broken up to help you take it step by step. Have fun 🙂
Oops my bad. First time I’ve followed a pattern so didn’t read it properly. Thanks it’s a gorgeous mandala.
Thank you sharing your beautiful artwork with us. I have throughly enjoyed watching it grow! I can’t believe I made something so beautiful! Thanks again!
You are most welcome, and well done to you 🙂
cordialement
Pascale
Thank you, I have told the translation team 🙂
Hallo Helen,
I have read on Facebook that there will be a group for your rose of Avalon pattern. I have bought it via Deramores. Should I also buy it via Raverly to join the group? Thanks! Doris
The group for Rose of Avalon is only for German speaking people…if you need help from me or in English then either my Ravelry group or facebook page for crystalsandcrochet 🙂
I’ve run out of color crafter yarn & need to know what colors for part 18so I can order enough to finish
for parts 17 and 18 you will need… nearly a full ball of Deventer, Amstelveen, Heerlene and Rhenen 🙂
C’est magnifique !!!!
Wehre is the German pattern?
I am still waiting, I will post as soon as I get it 🙂
In addition to your beautiful design, I really love you patience, humor & encouragement! Thank you so very much!
Bless you 🙂
Hi there’s no high lighted link for the video tutorial and I can’t seem to find it on you tube x
Sorry there was a delay, all is live now
Your Mandala is wonderful and I enjoyed it so much to crochet it. It is really a work of art. Thank you so much. It is hard to say goodbye to it in a week or two. Congratulation!
Thank you, so pleased you have had fun 🙂
