As many of you will know, I am trying to sell my late Mother’s house and move into a home of my own. I have been putting all sorts of ideas together, both for how I want the house to look, and for how my garden will look.
I came across this photo and immediately thought, wow wouldn’t that be a pretty idea for a shawl for to wear with evening dress.
This is a FREE pattern which you can download below, but first let me tell you a little more about how this came to be created.
At the last Stylecraft BlogStars meeting we were each given a selection of the beautiful new yarns that Stylecraft are launching of this Autumn/Winter season.
One of them is the softest, squishiest, sparkly, chunky yarn.
It is called Cosy and is an acrylic, metallic, Alpaca mix.
There are some gorgeous patterns available, and each ball comes with a free pattern for you to make.
The colours I used are Glacier, which is a blend of silver grey and teal, and Dawn which is silver and pink.
Stylecraft yarns are available online from any of my recommended suppliers, which you can find at the bottom of this page.

♥ For the Rose Trellis Shawl you will need 2 balls, a total of 426 meters/466 yards.
♥ I used a 7mm hook, which is perfect for a soft and loose fabric.
The pattern is perfect for beginners or experienced crocheters, the trellis is made with chains and slip stitches, only the final row has single crochet.
The roses are also very simple to make, and there are 2 different sizes for you to choose from.
This design is ideally suited to a soft chunky yarn, but you can let your creativity run wild and use what ever yarn you like.
