There is nothing as cosy and comfortable as a beautiful handmade blanket.
As I moved to Cornwall, my spiritual home, last year I have felt more comfortable as each week has passed.
I am inspired by the beautiful landscape, both the woodlands and the coastal areas, there is a ruggedness to the moors around Bodmin and the north coast that really makes me feel at one with nature and I tried to reflect that in this design.
This is just a little collage of the beautiful area I live in.
Cornish Comfort is full of rich texture with a wonderful mixture of both simple and more complex stitches.
If you are visiting the Knitting and Stitching show in London this year [2019] you will find the yarn packs on the Stylecraft stand, including a voucher code to download the pattern from Ravelry.
Cornish Comfort is also my featured design as a Stylecraft Blogstar this year and you will be able to join many people in the new Stylecraft MAL (make a long) group on Facebook, and of course in my own Facebook group Helen’s Hookaholics.

I made this beautiful blanket as a distraction when my mother died. It kept me occupied and engaged for a couple of months. Afterwards, I donated it to be raffled by Samaritans of Caithness, where I’m a listening volunteer. It attracted lots of interest and made a tidy sum for the charity! Thank you, Helen.
