The Diary of Mr J
Well I have been in my new home for 3 weeks now, and I am settling in very well.
Mum is learning to understand what I want and when.
I am not fussy about my food, but Mum says I am just a little bit overweight, so I am on a diet!
But I must report that even with a few treats, for being a very, very good boy, I have lost 5.25 g and only have another 7 g to lose. So, I am feeling very pleased with my new trimmer waistline.
Every day we go to a place called “Wooods”. It is so much fun, and I get to meet lots of other dogs there, one or two of the youngsters have no manners, they jump all over me, but they soon stop when I tell them off, and then we part as friends.
There is one, very old, lady dog who I meet every day, who always sits and waits to say hello to me, then we walk together for a little way, but she is very slow, so after a while I take off, in a different direction.
After the first week in “Wooods” my Mum let me walk on my own, and because I am such a clever chap, I always go to where she is when she calls me. But then I do get a little treat for that, so I don’t mind.
We have got into a very nice routine, and I am starting to know which way we will walk, depending on Mum saying, “short walk”, or” long walk”.
I have decided that the two most comfortable places are in Mum’s Crochet Chair, and even better when I can snuggle on top of what she is making…it is soft and smells nice. 😊
I had a little problem, a very nasty ear infection. I had to go and see the Vet, who was very nice, and gentle with me. Mum had to put drops in my ear and squish my ear about twice a day, but it made me feel better so I really didn’t mind.
The last few days have been very hot, and it has been hard to keep cool, but my lovely Mum went and brought me a fan, although I think she wants to share it too. In the early morning, I like to go outside and lay on the grass, when it is damp, before I have breakfast, and the rest of the day, and evening I lay in front of my fan and keep nice and cool.
Well, my lovely, human friends, I will say good-bye for now as it is dinner and walk time for me.
Be happy and live every day with freedom.
