I love the way Mother Nature throws a riot of colour together. She doesn’t seem to worry if one colour goes with another, it all blends in perfect harmony.

Have you noticed how green goes with everything?

Whether the garden you wander through is cultivated or wild, it will have so many layers, so many different shapes. Some leaves or flowers will be just starting life in tight little buds, and some will be in full bloom.

This is my Walk in the Garden.

Another large square, which will work perfectly as the centre of a project, with smaller squares added, to give any size you like. Or, for less joining, simply add extra rounds, and go as large as you like.

Also perfect as a cushion facing in Double knit yarn.

♥ 24” Afghan Square

Using worsted/Aran weight Yarn with a 5.5mm hook.
Approx.  630 meters/710 yards of yarn needed.

I used Caron Simply Soft in: Taupe, Bone, Victorian Rose, Lavender Blue and Sage.

♥ 20” Afghan Square

Using Double Knitting and 4mm hook.
Approx. 515 meters/ 560 yards of yarn needed.

I used Stylecraft Special Double Knitting in: White, Candyfloss, Fiesta, Citron, Grass Green, Sherbert, Turquoise, Empire, Wisteria, and Lobelia.

All of these gorgeous colours, and more are available from Woolwarehouse , The Knitting Network, and Love Crafts all ship internationally.

These squares can make fantastic scrap projects, with different colours in every round.
You can use just one or two colours, or you can go crazy with all the colours of the rainbow.

Here are some of the A Walk in the Garden squares made by my superstar testers.
